New Orleans
We arrived at Bayou Segnette State Park south of New Orleans on Feb 8. On Saturday we visited two plantations. The first stop was Oak Alley Plantation.

Our next stop was Whitney Plantation which is focused on slavery and includes many monuments and memorials for slaves.
On Sunday we headed to New Orleans and a day and evening full of Mardi Gras parades.
On Wednesday we headed back into the city to tour the French Quarter. We ended the day with dinner on a jazz cruise on the steamboat Natchez.

This is the future tomb of Nicholas Gage. Apparently he purchased old tombs from the previous owners and relocated the remains (with the permission of the previous owners), then had this tomb constructed for his future use.
Preservation Hall - Make sure to attend a concert at Preservation Hall if you are ever in New Orleans.
