Cape Disappointment, the Oregon Coast and the Northern California Coast

We made it to Cape Disappointment at the southwest corner of Washington on Halloween night.  We were definitely into the rainy season.  It rained almost 75% of the time while we were on the Washington Coast and that continued as we traveled down the Oregon and the north California coasts.

Interesting story about our arrival at Cape Disappointment on Halloween.  Lots of trick and treaters out in Ilwaco.  As we drove through Donna Sue rolled her window down to listen.  We set up camp in the dark and went to bed.  Around 12:30 am there was a knock on our door and a voice said that our car lights were flashing.  I went outside and discovered a racoon in the car.  He had entered through Donna Sue’s window, which she had forgotten to close, and happened to step on the four way flasher button.  Luckily our neighbor was out walking his dog at midnight and saw the flashing lights and had enough courage to knock on our door.  We shooed the racoon out of the camper and closed the window.  It began to rain steadily shortly after that, so, all in all, we got out of that escapade quite nicely.
