Mount Baker, Camano Island and Mount Rainier

We moved to Silver Fir Campground at the base of Mount Baker on Wed, 9/7.  Turned out Ethan was coming down with Covid the previous weekend when we hiked to Cascade Pass.  I tested positive on Thursday evening and Donna Sue tested positive on Saturday.  Needless to say, we spent most of the time at the campground.  It was quite smokey the whole time we were at Mount Baker.  One day we even had ash drifting down from the sky.  On Saturday we drove down to a park on the Puget Sound in Bellingham just to get out of the smoke.  Sunday we drove up to Mount Baker to see if we could get above the smoke.  No such luck.  You could barely see Mount Baker and Mount Shuksan through the smoke. Our next stop was going to be a Provincial Park in Canada, so that had to change.  We headed to Camano Island State Park on Tue, 9/13, and stayed there for eight nights.  Lovely state park on Puget Sound.  It was an excellent place to recover from Covid.
